Which MAF to use

I am in need of a MAF sensor and would like some opinions on which one to use.
The motor is all stock but plan on installing headers, removing the cat, flowmaster muffler, and a ported plenum in the next few months.

Auto Zone has one for 150 bucks but it's remanufactured.... I have seem on the board somewhere about a Wells MAF with a film type element for about the same price.... But not sure where to buy one of those units....

Thanks,
Tim

The Wells SU-145 is a thick-film type sensor instead of using the fragile hot wire. The Wells MAF also has no internal restrictions, such as a heat sink, sampling tube, and restrictive wire screens on both ende of the MAF, as the stock Bosch MAF used. I paid $172.00 for mine, with a lifetime warranty, all necessary clamps, etc.

You can check for them at many parts suppliers, including:

I went through two MAFS's designed like the Wells model within a few months....and had nothing but problems...code after code...think it was 33...never went away, baffled my mechanic and the guy that taught him what he knows......after i went with the Bosch style, which i got from NAPA on my mechanic's suggestion for the same price roughly, the code dissappeared, and no problems have arisen since. I have since gotten back the $$$ i spent on the Wells model as a warranty claim from Advance Auto Parts. Just my $.02.
