Fuel Pump question

I just bought the Racetronix L98 F-body GSS340M Fuel Pump Kit and they sent me an e-mail saying: "You will have to make sure you have a regulator and return line that will allow the pressure to be lowered to apx. 15PSI."

I have a 89 Trans Am, 5.0L, TBI preparing for a 2001 LS1 swapp in the next couple of months.

What do they mean by that?

Thanks,
Wayne

Should this be in the TBI Section?

WAG, i'd say they mean you have to have a regulator that allows you to set the fuel preasure below 15 psi. if you have a tbi pump it may not be much of a problem but it the pump is fro tpi it would be for a much higher preasure.

wow, I can't seem to fond any, under $150. Lol, I figured it would be cheap. Anyone know where I can get a cheap one? I don't think I'll need it with the LS1, right?

Thanks

Barry Grant carriesd one in summit, Check the online catatlog. It is an adjustable regulator with bypass. I have my TPI pump feeding a Holley 600 with no problem. I run 7lbs at idle with teh stock TPI pump....

Is the stock TBI Fuel pressure regulator not good enough that I need to have another? Cause the stock TBI pump is less than $40, although I'd hate to have to do it twice, lol. Cause I'm sure 9 to 13 PSI is not gonna be enought for the LS1.

I found what I need to run the Racetronix pump:
http://www.top-downsolutions.com/pr...c7938c736d01632
but I'm gonna wait and see how much more I can get out of the existing pump, should have the money to start the swapp in March, hopefully.

Thanks guys,
Wayne
