ok, recently, my car (1991 Firebird - 305 TBI) has had two small problems (hopefully they're small) ... I'll start from when I think it happened. I was driving in a gravel parking lot and hit a fairly large dip and my car bottomed out.. I'm thinking maybe this loosened some exhaust pipe.. the first problem was that when it was cold, right after it started, there was a strong gas-like smell, but only for a minute or so... very recently I started noticing a strange sound, which I'm assuming is coming from my exhaust.. it happens only when I press the gas pretty hard, and only seems to be at higher RPMs.. but it sounds almost like a hissing coming from the rear passenger side.. I haven't really looked for anything yet.. but if anyone might have any idea what it could be, please let me know. Thanks.

Is the smell a sweet smell?

 

It's sorta like a strong exhaust/gasoline smell. I dunno if it's sweet :P hehe
