Anyone ever ship an engine?

unless it was a bare block, you would have to use something like fed ex freight. Fed ex ground only ships up to 150 lbs, i imagine ups is similar

Put it on one of those little stands you can buy that area bout a foot tall, and bolt it to a pallet. Use a motor freight company. They'll come pick it up, for a few extra coins. Call around to "truck lines" in the Yellow Pages.
A complete engine, packaged for shipment, will weigh about 650 lbs. That should get you close enough to get reasonably accurate estimates.

I did just as RB stated,,sending and receiving....From Penn. To Omaha on Yellow Freight Co. cost of 250.00. Be sure and mount the stand to the pallet , I used shrink wrap on top of that. Cover ant openings,,intake,, exhaust and so forth. Dont want any objects "falling' inside,
