I´m frustrated now ...

Hallo to everybody !!!
I did an engine-swap last year, and this week the first 500-mls oilchange had to be done. But what came out of the oilpan ??? - A mixture of oil and water. - I got the engineblock frome a professional enginebuilder an put on the intake and the injectionstuff myself. Therefore I think the reason isn´t a broken headgasket but a leak between the intakemanifold and the head. But how to figure out ? Shouldn´t there be white steam out of the exhaust if it´s a broken headgasket ? - Hmm, I think I have to dismantle the whole intake again ( TPI sucks ).
By the way, is there anybody out there who´s chevy-engine is absolutely tight or is it normal that they´re loosing oil ? - It´s my third block, and I never get the oilpan sealed properly ( even now, I have the newstyle 1-piece gasket => some oildrops in the front and a lot of in the rear ).
Thanks for encouraging me again ...
Uwe

preassure test the cooling system may help you locate a leak. as for the oil pan you might want to use a hammer and level out the dimples where the bolts deforms the pan around the holes. i've used a lot of one piece oil pan gaskets and never had a problem.
