How can I adjust the fuel guage?
I just replaced my fuel pump and now the guage is reading that there is a little less then half a tank when the car is actually out of gas. I just need to adjust the needle to the left a little bit. Can that be done on the actual guage?

Have you filled tank completely since you replaced the pump? Maybe that will help knock the float in the tank loose. It's probably hung up on the sock filter.

Both could be right... You either damaged it, or it's hung up on something.
Try taking a rubber mallet to the tank, and start beating on it to see if you can knock the floats lose. Of course don't put dent in the tank.
Had the same thing happen on my Vette. It never went empty, and I actually ran out of gas after I swap in a new fuel pump.
After the first fill up, just riding around the floats finally freed up.
However I wasn't to worried caused it only takes five minute to do a fuel pump on a C4 Vette, vs. half a day with a 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird
I know the F'in crap you have to go through on the 3rd gen! I done it twice!!!
Don't mess with the gauge, cause it's not going to scale right just by moving the needle. It you did move the needle to show empty, it would now never show full

BTW: You can take an ohms tester to the sending wire from the tank (pink wire?), and one to the chassie ground. Full = 90 ohms, empty = 0 ohms. +- a few ohms.

Thanks guys, I have not adjusted the needle yet. I hope the float will come loose, I know that i am definitely not taking the tank off again, I will just learn to deal with it. I will also try the ohms test and see what happens.
