Charging Troubles

Hello,

I know this is not a Camaro, but I was wondering if some of you with the knowledge could maybe help me out with this problem I am having.

It is a 1991 Buick Regal, 3.8L, Automatic.

I am having troubles with the charging system, I have a brand new alternator and brand new battery.

Have gone through mutliple alternators too make sure Im not getting faulty alternators, and I have even had a GM Brandnew alternator in there.

When I am driving down the road, and give it gas the check gages light will come on, and the volt gage will drop down, lights will dim, but if I am light on the gas it usually doesnt happen, but if Im really into the gas it will happen. Now as soon as I take my foot of the gas the gage goes to normal and everything is fine, or if I am driving down the road with my foot in the gas the light will come on and the gage will drop and as soon as the transmission shifts will go back too normal for the couple of seconds well the tranny is shifting ( sorta like when you have a manual and you put the clutch in, giving the same effect as the gas being let go ).

Any ideas, any things I should check? Any help would be great, I have taken it too 4 mechanics one of which was a GM Shop and all they do is put on a new alternator.

Thank You,
Mark

Have you checked the tension on your belt. It could be slipping on the pulley.

Just three things come to mind:

1. Connections;
2. Connections;
3. Connections.

Let me elaborate for the reticent one above.

Connections at the alternator and from the batt to the alternator, battery to the starter and then every damned ground you got!

All the conection have been checked, what I am wondering at this point is could it be the computer? or is there any sensor that is supposed to tell the Alternator to put out more voltage when I am acelerating?
