Heh... ok start counting

There are 6 lower and 4 upper bolts on each runner. Make sure they are all off. The plenum has to be off to get the runners off unless you wanna play magician and loosen the fuel rails. Some aftermarket runners and bases sorta change the playing field, but most of the time there are bolts hiding in there. My guess.... bottom 2 in the center of each pair of runners, both sides.

so i donot have to remove the rails, and there are a total of 12 bolts each side? what about the cold start injector on the drivers side. if so how do you remove that.
(i didnot start doing this yet, i tried over the summer when i changed the egr. i am planning to remove the entire intake in a few months so i am just testing the water)

thanks

Stell,

It's always been easier to me to remove the right set first. I think it's because there's a bit more space around the right side of the engine and no cold start valve. After the right set is removed, there is a bit more space to work around the left set.

The fuel rails do not necessarily have to be removed to get the runners off.

Theres 10 bolts each side. The cold start valve will just pull out of the runner when you get the bolt out. Dont be afraid to swing it up out of the way or bend the tubing running to it a little. If you want to do it "right" you loosen the nut on the back of the driver side rail where the cold start attaches and take it off before you mess with the runner. Bending is so much easier...
