Questions about Vortec engines

Just a courious question. The engines GM uses for the trucks, Vortec 350, what kind of engine is this. Is it the same as a normal 350, with Vortec heads, or is it an LT1 or LS6 type. I was just courious that if I went to the junkyard, and grabed one out of say a '98 chevy, would this be a 4-bolt main to use, with the added bonus of Vortec heads. Or is it a different monster?

this is an average sbc with vortec heads and a roller cam. It doesnt really matter if it has four bolt mains unless you plan on making 500HP or more at a high rpm. This is a rugged engine and will take some abuse.

Thanks, so then I assume its like the 87up third gen engines, 1 piece rear main seal, and roller cam. Thanks for your help.

I'd like to know what junkyard has new[er] vehicles! All the local ones have 80's cars.
