my 89 v6 rs is running a bit rich...would a multispark MSD ignition system(i.e. 6A box and blaster coil) fix some of that problem...i want to get one anyway, but I was just wondering if it would help at all?

The ignition upgrade wont change the rich condition at all. IF your rich enough to cause misfires the ignition box will reduce them some.

 

running rich.....first thing id say is check timing, then check egr valve...when was the last tune up? mine is running rich too i believe, smells rich, and i get 12 mpg, and black smoke a 4000+ rpms....im pretty sure im running rich...OR just not burning the gas...i just checked my timing...its 5* advanced so i stuck it back to 0...seein if it changes anything, ill let you know....but the ehxuast didnt smell like it used to thats for sure
