How to get CARB EO # stickers if buying used parts
Is it possible to get the emissions sticker (C.A.R.B E.O. #) from the manufacturer of an emissions legal part if you buy the part used? Is it as simple as just calling the company up and asking?
Has anyone been able to get a sticker for a used part?
Thanks

Yes, some you can do that. I don't know that it's something you can generalize about all companies though.
Some even post the CARB EO #s on their web site. Edelbrock headers have that for example.
You don't have to have the "sticker", as such, necessarily; as long as the part has a part #, and you can supply the EO # that goes with it.
What are you trying to find?

Just buying, or thinking of buying some used stuff that's emissions legal, and was wondering if I'm going to have to have an "official" sticker for each part, if it's available from the manufacturer for used - yet emissions legal - parts.
Thanks

well, I'd guess the best thing to do would be to research the specific part before you buy it....
When I lived out there, I had to do the web page thing for my Edelbrock TES, so I know it can work. I printed the page and showed it to the inspector. My headers were ceramic coated, so the EO # stamping was filled in, but they could see the part #, and look it up on the web printout, so it was all good.
They even had a book or handout, seems like it came from the DMV, with some of the more common parts listed in it. You might try going by an inspection station and asking to see that.
