flywheel/starter question
Are there any differences in the starters and flywheels on '85-'89 TPI autos? The reason I'm asking is the engine in my car was swapped out sometime before I got it and I need to get a new starter and I was looking into mini starters and I dont know which to get. The engine has centerbolt heads and no cold start injector so I'm pretty sure its a '89.
Thanks,
Matt

First, to clear things up. If you have an automatic, you have a flexplate, not a flywheel. Its either a 168 tooth or a 153 tooth (im not sure which, do a search). look at the application. Often times the starter will fit both the 153 and 168 tooth flexplates.

This is what I have on both my 3rd gens. Nice unit. Fits both 153 and 168 tooth flexplate.
Weighs just over 10 pounds too.
