Easy MAF question

When i disconnect my MAF do i need to disconnect the battery? I know it cant hurt but recently i heard someone say it is critcal to disconnect the batery when your futzing around with the MAF.

No, you don't have to disconnect the battery to disconnect the MAF senso.

The MAF has two powered leads, one for burnoff/cleaning and one for operational service. Neither are powered when the key is in the OFF position.

I would not disconnect it with the engine running or the ignition key in the on position, but it won't be neccessary to disconnect the battery. If you do it, will cause the ECM to reset. It will have to "re-learn" after a restart & possibly run crappy until it normalizes.
