Buillding an engine.. have a few questions :)
Hey everyone. I'm helping a friend build up a 350 for his 89 305 IROC. I have a few questions on some things I'm not sure about, maybe you guys could clear it up for me.
I have a 91 350 one piece rear seal non-roller block. He wants to use some 350 centerbolt truck heads and put the stock 89 TPI on it. What cam would be a good choice for this combination ? We were lookin at some of the 99 dollar "Energizer" cams they sell at Checker's auto parts. He wants to spend as little as possible for the cam since he wants a "stock" type rebuild. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If those are the Crane "Energizer" cams, they're not too bad for an application like that.
He should pick one with a .050" duration in the 210-215° range for a good bit of power but still a smooth stock-type idle and good mileage.
