Question about junkyard engine
I pulled an engine from the junkyard yesterday, today i pulled the heads and oil pan off to see what i was dealing with. The car i got it from said 210,000 on the odometer, yet the engine has a very very slight "ridge" at the top of the cylinder. Its basically non existant... The ones on my 2.8L v6 with 190,000 miles were so bad that even a .010 overbore would not take care of them.
Also the rod bearings look really really good, exept for some slight wear marks which is normal. Nothing like what my 190,000 mile V6 bearings looked like.
This leads me to belive this engine has been recently rebuilt, but i am no expert, so i want to know what you guys think.

Not unusual if synthetic oil was used.
The pistons should have a stamp on the crown like 030, and the bearings 010, or whatever over/under, if the engine was rebuilt.
