new heads and compression on old block
Will putting new heads with higher compression ratio and a new cam in a motor that has say 60,000 on it hurt the rings. I hear that it may cause them to wear fast being that is was broke in with lower pressure. thanks

No. I wouldn't worry about it.
60k miles is just barely broken in, if the engine has been properly taken care of.
Typical old wives' tale.
What usually happens however, is that for some reason not completely clear to me, when someone puts a better set of heads on his engine, he (she) feels obligated to frequently verify in operation the superiority of the new parts; this has been known to be carried to such an extreme as to cause short block failure.
But the heads themselves weren't the cause. The root cause was a change in driver behavior.
Moral of the story: do what you want; just don't go out and immediately blow up your motor by being stupid.

i hear that doing such can cause rod knock, ive seen quite a few times this happen, mainly to old high miles FWD cars though, start knocking after the head replacement has been done for a day or two
