Non F-body Question, Transmission?

I have a GMC full size Van, 2500 series. 350 4BBL. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the transmission is? I have the vin # and all the rpo codes. The vin decoder on this site only works with f-bodies, and it did not turn up in the RPO decoder, everything else turned up, and it said it couldnt find like 4 of the codes.

Thanks

It's probably a turbo 350, but some trucks had variations of the th350.

Sorry about that, its an 84. I was told its a heavy duty engine, if that helps.

You can always look at the shape of the transmission pan...

If its a 3 speed auto, its probably a TH400.

If its a 4 speed O/D trans than its a 700R4.

Probably a turbo 350 if it's a 3-speed, or a 700 if it has OD.

If it's a 3-speed, look at the pan. If it's square, it's a 350. If it's shaped sort of like an oven mitt, it's a 400.

It has OD and the pan is shaped like a rectangle.

The OD is the main identifier... you have a 700. Those have square pans too.
