EGR problem I think ????
Hey guys, what's going on. When I am driving and hitting the gas as I drive I hear a noise that sounds like an exhaust leak coming form the engine. And it has gotten louder over the past few months. When I put my hand to the side of the EGR and yank the throttle I can feel some wind blowing on my hand from the EGR. I was reading Chiltons and they mention that there is an EGR gasket. Would changing this help or would I have to replace the entire EGR, and if I do what would it cost me ?
Oh yeah, when the car is sitting and you hit the gas pedal, the car will reve up and if you hit it hard enough and let go quickly, the car will stall ???
Has anyone heard of this before. Thanks to everyone who responds.

EGR costs about 60 bucks I think and is worth replacing if you can. It comes with gaskets, I believe there is two. One way you can tell if its bad, press inside pump up and plug the vaccumm hole on the side with your finger and if the pump goes down when you let go of pressing the pump then its bad, if it stays I believe its ok. So you might want to check it before you spend 60 or 70 bucks.

Cool car for being my first and spending $1000 at an impound auction. Had to start it with a screw driver for a bit but it's all gravy.
