Lifter Question...

im rebuilding my 350, so i put a bigger cam and ported my heads out... i wanted to ask if its ok to stick with the stock lifters, or do i need to get new lifters for my cam? i know it would be better to get new ones, but if it would still be OK to use my stock ones, i'd rather do that since i know money doesnt grow on trees like i wish it would lol

What type of lifters are they? If they are flat tappets, you should replace them because they wear out due to the friction between the lifter face and the lobe.

If they are a roller profile, they can be reused. Obviously the roller takes up much of the friction so they dont wear out like flat tappets.

I would assume Hydro Roller b/c its a 90 5.7 right?

How many miles are on them?

Obviously it would be better to use new ones, but like you said money is an issue sometimes. I know it is for me. You could put them back in, but be prepared to replace them at some point. The added lift of the new cam, and the added spring pressure will not act kindly on the older lifters...
