Oh but I forgot to mention that valvetrain parts and cams from LT1 and LT4 Gen II motors will work.

intakes wil swap '55-'86
heads too
oil pans '55-'79 then changed for '80-'85, and then again for '86-up
water pumps '55-68 short and '69-up long
crankshafts changed to large journal most engines in '68,
flexplates and flywheels and cranks changed pattern in '86
exhaust manifolds '55-'68 ram horns, '69-'79 large style below spark plugs design, and then most '80-up with smogger smaller above sark plugs design, however TBI trucks and such went with the larger below plugs style but slightly minorly different in how the exits point out laterally
are a couple carryovers and exceptions for certain years models and such with some of these parts
