ok got a new starter, charged batery, and oil has some gritty stuff on it and the engine will NOT turn over. ?? is it what i think it is and is there another way of fixing it than a rebuild ??

 

Did it just stop running??

What makes you think its siezed.??

Can you turn the engine over by turning the crankshaft manually??

yea it just stopped. how would i go about cranking it manually ?

 

Put a socket on the crankshaft bolt and turn it. (This is easier if you remove the plugs.)

If the car is an automatic, you can remove the flexplate cover and turn the engine with a flywheel tool.

If its a stick and you are trying to turn the engine, make sure its out of gear.

What do you mean by gritty stuff in the oil? Like metal shavings? if theres metal shavings in your oil, you probalby spun a bearing.

ok lets just say there was barely any oil cause you oil pan was all jacked up.....

 

Was it ventalated??
