does it really matter

does making sure you put the lifters back into the same hole or you put all the valves and srings back into the same cylider, of course keep exhaust and intake seprate,matter. also should i do anything to check the spring pressure. i am putting it all back together stocki didn't change anything. i just want to make sure i do it right. thanks Eric

What type of motor? Roller? If not yes it's very important with regard to the lifters. Yes you have to keep track of the rest of the valvetrain as well, same spring in same pocket etc.
As far as the valves, diff strokes I think. Some say yes, some say no so long as they seat properly. I'd put everything back from where it came.

i've built a engine or two and done a few more heads and i never worried about it and have had a total of zero problems or failures.
