CRAP!! 7/16 rocker studs do not fit on 113 heads!!!! What to do???
I bought a bare set of 113 heads aluminum heads and 3/8 studs with 7/16 bottoms part number 10168410. The studs just slides in the hole, the hole is way to big, it seems the rocker stud holes are 1/2, do they sell studs for that???
Here is a pic of the problem, PLEASE HELP I have to get this car running in a few days, ahh.

Sounds like somebody stripped them, drilled them out, and got rid of them. Next Owner's Problem.
Best thing to do is probably to have your macihine shop drill them out to the next largest pipe plug size, put the plugs in, machine them flat, and drill & tap a 7/16"-20 hole in them.
Yes a Heli-Coil would be strong enough, if you could use them. They're a hell of a lot stronger than that aluminum, you can believe that. Problem is, I think the hole is already too big for the right size one.

shame someone drilled em out so large.. a heli coil woulda been a perfect fix.. they're life savers when dealing with easy to strip/expensive to replace aluminum pieces... still see what size tap a 7/16 helicoil requires

Good news.

Both 7/16" (14 TPI and 20 TPI) inserts require a 9/16" hole.

In my Heli-Coil kits for that size, I've always used a 29/64" drill, like it says on the package. That's 7/64" smaller than 9/16".
The drill size for 1/2" is about the same, 27/64" or 29/64" IIRC. Problem is, if it's been drilled to one of those and then tapped, you'll have a real tough time tapping the 7/16"-14 (std thread) that studs use, on top of a 13 or 20 pitch thread already there. I honestly don't think it will work. That's why I suggest a pipe plug.... no possibility for that type of error there.
3/8" pipe plugs would appear to be your best bet.

Those are the ones with the outer barrel and locking pins, not a standard Heli-Coil one.... unfortunately I'm not where I can take a pic of my 7/16" std & fine Heli-Coil kits, with the drill size marked on the package and the right drill bit in the package with them, as I'm on the road on a project.... but if you could use whatever style that is without making the boss so thin that it would split when you tighten the stud down, then it would certainly work. There's no law that says an insert has to be a Heli-Coil, or one like it.
http://www.mcmaster.com go to page 3058 of their catalog, Heli-Coils are on that page.

Thanks for all the help guys!
I went to the store and got helicoil kit 5521-7 which is for a 29/64 hole. The hole drilled in the heads was a 29/64 and was taped to 1/2 threads. The tap that came with the kit almost perfectly fits in the holes that already taped just cleaned them up a little.
So helicoils are really stronger then as stock?
