Questions on installing crank pulley

How do I keep the engine from turning over when I'm torqueing this stuff down? I used a flywheel locking tool on my LS1, but what about my 305?

impact wrench. if it's a new engine i'm putting together i let a conter weight wedge aginst a hammer handle and i tighten it and torque it. fly wheel tool would work too for holding it.
