Transmission: 700R4
Casting # question
A friend of mine is going to be bringing an engine to me next month. It is supposedly a 400 SB, 2 bolt mains. The casting # is 330317. I have not seen that number in any list I have looked at, but I have seen 330817, which is a 400, 2 bolt mains. Could he have seen the number wrong, or does the # 330317 exist? Thanks!

Some of the numbers cast on the rear ledge can be difficult to read, and aren't always cast clearly. I'll bet a number got misread.
