LT1 ????

I read that in the '93 Impala, the base engine was a 265 LT1. If so, then what other sizes did the LT1 come in? I know that for the '93 Camaros/Firebirds they had the 350, and also in the vettes.

What makes an LT1 what it is? In '93 the F-bodys had an iron block, and the vettes had aluminium blocks, but they both had the aluminium heads.

When did the LT1 first come in the Camaro/Firebirds?

Car: yep
Engine: uhuh
Transmission: sure does
They did make a 4.3l V8 (265 c.i.) in the impalas and caprices. (I just put an Optispark unit in one today )

They look just like a LT1, but the LT1 is a 350.

LT1 came out in '92 on 'vettes and '93 in F-bodies. The Caprice 4.3 (wanna be LT1) would be an L99.

LT1s did not have aluminum blocks, L99s are trash and are easy to designate on a caprice by not having a P as the 8th digit.
