265/50R16's on rear ??

Anyone using or has tried 265/50r16's on the rear ?? Would be on a 86 TransAm with stock rims. I now have 255/50r16's, but would like more traction. Looks like it will be close on the inside front of the left rear. The fender liner is already close to the swing arm.

my 275 50's fit on stock rims, at first they rubbed a little bit on the inner wheel well but nothing a BFH couldn't fix...

I ran the BFG 265/50'as on IROC rims before, just a little rubbing at first on the inner front portion of the well. but, as said above, a BFH took care of that with one swing. nice tire too, really filled up the well...

HOW YOU DOING GUYS, MY 90 IROC IS READY FOR TIRES AS WELL. I'D LIKE TO GO 265 IN THE REAR. EXACTLY HOW MUCH RUBBING IS THERE?

AND WHAT DOES BFH STAND FOR?

BFH....Big Freaking Hammer Just a few whacks of where it rubs to more the offending metal out of the way.

I ran the BFG 275/50R16s years ago & never had any rubbing nor touched anything for them to fit. Got them mounted at Super Shops & drove home. I'm sure how much lowering there is will affect the fit plus minor build differences can account for rubbing.

Re: 265/50R16's on rear ??

The hitting needed to be done is no big deal. Your just reshaping the inner fender wheel so it is only seen whenm the wheel is off. No big deal at all. Doesn't weaken the structure any nor degrade the integrity of the car. I did that plus cut a lot out with a sawzall to fit 315s!

Oh wow 315's huh? Okay, maybe later when i get gutsy about tearing it up. Probably never though, the car is in really good shape (original shape).

i will buy another 90 later and have that one as the custom, play around with it.
