Listen to this IAC problem. I need help.
Here I go. I grounded it out for 30 secs, pulled the IAC connector off, unplugged paperclip, fireed it up and I cant get it to go beloe 1000 RPMS the little screw isnt even touching the handle anymore. So i said hmm so i go about to where the screw would hit the handle and turn the car off. I plug IAC back in and fire it up and wham it idels at 550. So i come back tomorrow and fire it up and it starts but stays at 500 RPMS with in a second its doesnt even go to 1200-1000-800-and down to 500 it starts at 500. Whats wrong?
Mkos,
It sounds like maybe the throttle shaft is sticking in the body or the throttle plates are binding. This can cause the throttle to "park" in various positions above normal idle position. Check the edges of the throttle plates and inspect the bores for wear and polishing where the plates may have been touching. Make sure the shaft has no vertical play or free movement when the throttle is open.
Another possibility is that the IAC is sticking, and could use a thorough cleaning (while out of the throttle body and with the pintle removed).

if you take your IAC out and clean it, make sure you dont use carb cleaner on it, use throttle body cleaner(dont ever ever use carb cleaner on a fulie car, the carb cleaner is to harsh, and can knock out your TPS or IAC)when you clean it, make sure you keep the part with the little spring pointed down, if cleaner runs up inside it, its possible that it will ruin the sensor. just make sure you dont turn it upside down, clean it good, blow it out. also, on some IAC's, after you replace them, and some you clean, you are supposed to drive 4 miles at 40 mph to "reset" the IAC. just my .02
