Temp Gauge

Which temp sensor is the one linked to the temp gauge, the one in the block or the one in the intake manifold. My temp gauge has been pinned in the top position for over a year now. Thanks.

i must have the wrong one in there then. Replace it a while back hoping to fix the gauge. When I pulled it out, I saw it was the "button" type. The replacement I have is the "clip end" type. Guess i'll give the button one a try and see if that fixes it.

Are you sure the gauge isn't broke? I had a gauge that was pegged out. I replaced the gauge now it works fine.

The connector will fit to either the blade style or the mushroom style. As long as it fits in the hole, and it's really a sender for a gauge and not the one for an idiot light, it should work; electrically they're all the same.

Pinned at the top means either a bad gauge, or the wire is shorted to ground somewhere. If the gauge is good it should come down at least sometimes when the key is off. If it never moves, get another cluster from the junkyard. It's about a 15 minute swap, very easy.

Thanks. Sounds like that might be it. The temp gauge hasn't moved in over a year and I have replace both sensors.
