Putting Vortec heads on a TBI 305?

A friend of mine has a set of slightly used Vortec truck heads that he's willing to give me. I can only talk the wife into a tiny bit of our budget for mods (warning to all single guys - get married, and this WILL happen to you!). Is this a doable mod, is it worth it, and what all will need to be changed? I know the intake will have to be changed, will I need to get a new cam? Rockers? Anybody done this before and can you tell me what effect it had?

First of all, Vader, thank you for replying. The heads are from a 1997 K1500 and they're 350 heads.

Second: I just did what I should have done in the first place, and conducted a search of posts to see what I could find out about this swap. I found about 1,000,000,000,000,000 posts on the TBI board that will probably tell me just about everything I need to know. Things like: I have to mill the heads .045 in order to keep the 305's compression up to snuff, I will need to use a Vortec specific manifold (which I already knew) with a TBI spacer (which I didn't know). I have even seen lists of mods people have done to accompany the installation of L31 heads (as I now know they're called) and what it did for them.

In closing, let me just say this. I have an ASE Master Certification which I obviously got during my "idiot savant" moments, because I sure have not done myself proud with this post. I deserve any, and all, flames you thirdgenners care to send my way. That's all I have to say about that.
