carbon canister
i have removed the air system and want to remove the charcol canister but i see that there is a couple connectors plugged into it plus there is some vaccum line attached to it so i was wondering if i unplug the harness and the vaccum lines can i just cap the lines and unplug the connector and will i be fine?

Its not gonna get you anymore power either so theres really no reason to do it. Unless you like pouring fuel out of your tank onto the ground. Then go ahead and tear the thing out.

so there is not way for me to get rid of it?i just wanted to clean up the engine bay alittle and what does the canister do for the fuel tank i thought it was for emissions?

if you really want more detail, do a search, but heres the jist:
when you suck the fuel from the tank, it needs a vent to let air back it to displace the fuel.
also when the tank gets warmer, the gas(air) inside expans and needs a place to go
if it was just a regular vent, your gas would evaporate out.
the canister lets air in and out but makes the fuel vapor remain in the tank.

i took mine off, there was no electrical connectors on mine, maybe cause the computers gone? all i did was put a small inline filter on the end of the hose that goes to the gas tank so nothing will get into my tank. i havent seen any problems so far. If all the fuel was dumping out in vapor form, wouldn't it do the same with the canister on just go into it?

You can do without it. Mine had to go after I installed the cold air kit. There wasn't any room for it. The only concern you should have is the line that connects to the canister that emits fuel vapor. I bought a small fuel filter that fit perfectly and inserted right into the tube (which is facing upword) which will makes things a lot safer, and absorbs the gas fumes you'd otherwise smell. The car runs perfect without it. That is what I would recommend...

i could have some pics up when i find my digi cam, but for now the rubber line should run between the wheel well and the steering column, under the brake booster, then down the side all the way to the tank. on my car, right about at the firewall it became a steel line. ill try to post a pic if i can find out where my digital camera went...

It's the tube emitting the gas fumes in the front right side(passenger side), next to the air cleaner. It is probably your best alternative. The fuel filter I used is very small. Sometimes when I'd get done driving the car I could hear the gas 'gurgling' in that line and I could smell gas fumes, so plugging the tube with a fuel filter made things a lot safer and took care of the vapors. Before, I would just unscrew the gas cap to relieve the pressure.
