Had some questions that I thought that I would ask you guys because I'm not all to knowledgable (sp?) on this. First question is what can I all remove from under the hood of my 86 carburated 305. I want to keep the AC but what in terms of hoses and wires can I remove. My second questions is about a noise my car makes at certain times. It usually only makes it when it is still cold but sometimes after it has been running for awhile. It's a really odd sound, and I asked my dad what he thinks it could be, and he's not too sure. Well thanks for the help again.

Could you describe the noise?

 

If emissions aren't an issue in your area, you can remove the air injection system. This includes the pump, solenoids, and various hoses that run alongside the motor.

 

The noise is kind of a cross between a hissing and kind of like a metal ball rolling around in a coffee can. Thanks for all the help thus far.
