quick... EGR GASKET, CAN I MAKE ONE?

I am putting the Tpi back together, but don't have a egr gasket. I cleaned the surfaces, and have cut a new one out of heavy gauge cardboard. I am planning to
"black RTV" both sides. What do you think? I can't just get the "right one" here in Japan. thanks shawn

i think i'd buy some gasket material instead of carboard. both parts are a machines surface so sealer wouldn't be needed.

Remember, there's exhasust ags there. Is your cardboard exhaust-gas-proof?

If not, I would suggest not using it. It would be worse than using nothing.

High-temp RTV and no gasket at all usually works OK at least for a few thousand miles, although you might need shorter bolts.
