i was just looking at them, and they say the intake and exhuast seats are only 1.94/1.50. this is the exact same size as the stock chevy heads i have on now (Sorry, i dont know the casting #'s). So what's so great about about the vortec head compared to a "normal" head. I'm thinking about investing in a set of them, but i need to justify spending the money, so could someone clue me in?
thanks

They flow alot better than most stock production head. They use the same intake port as the LT1 heads. For the money it is the best bang for the buck. Chevy High Performance got 408 hp out of these heads just by pocket porting and a multiangle valve job. They got 411 hp out of Trick Flows right out of the box. Three horsepower difference. These heads are awesome for the money. Half the price of trick flows and same performance.

valve sizes are only a very very small part of a head. port size, shape and design. valve design and chamber size and design play a bigger part than valve sizes really. the vortec heads way outflow any of our stock heads without any work to them.
