What exhaust?

Also, what motor is it?

Whatever cam you put in there, you won't get anywhere near the full benefit of it until you change the exhaust, all the way from the heads to the street. Both that and the cam are absolutely terrible, but neither one does very much without the other.

Id strongly recommend that you put the exhaust on first; either a TES from Edelbrock, or SLP headers, or some other good header system designed to fit a stock exhaust. However, DO NOT get the one for the LG4; get either the one for a L69, or the one for the L98, and a cat to match. Any of them will swap right onto your car if and only if you do the entire thing from heads to street all at once. If you get the one for the LG4 you'll be stuck with the tiny little Y-pipe forever; but if you get the headers for something else they won't hook up to your existing exhaust. It has to be a package deal.

A good cam for that setup would be the Comp XE262H. Several people on this BBS are running that cam in a carbed 305 with excellent results. I have used some of its big brothers (in larger motors, I don't dabble in the little 305 much) and found that series of cams to be far superior to anything else I've used in my decades of motor building.

Cam and exhaust together will wake up that car a whole lot. With the intake and carb you've a;ready got, they will probably be worth a good 50 HP.

Which carb have you got? The Holley 6210 which is a 650 spreadbore man sec double-pumper is one of my favorite street carbs.

You did change the distributor to a vacuum-advance, didn't you? If not, you need to do that too; you could either get a whole new one or get a junk one and put a curve kit and adjustable vacuum advance like the Crans one in it. Accel has a good one that's not too expensive.
