Rerouting Belt
I know that we can take the smog pump off and bypass the belt but can you do that with the Compressor???
if so where can I find info?

the 1LE used a pulley to delete it. not sure of the part number offhand but maybe it's in the faq

Just go to your local auto store and ask them for the right belt. On my 89 (V6) the bearings went out on the compressor, so I routed around it. The new belt excluded the compressor and a normal pulley (where the AIR pump would have been if I had had a 5-speed). I am not sure what it would be for an 8 cylinder though.
