Are factory y-pipes for 2.8 and 5.0 the same?

Car: 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Engine: 4.0L
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: 8.8 rear, 4.56 gears, 4:1 transfer
Are factory y-pipes for 2.8 and 5.0 the same?

I don't think they are the same, my neighbor is swapping his 2.8V6 for a 5.0 V-8. I think he needs the V-8 y-pipe, am I right?
