Need suggestions for suspension mods to prevent this

Check my signature for info on my car. It says I have auburn posi. I do, but it's not installed yet. So my rear is OPEN.

The roads here are dry.
I went through a puddle while exiting Red Lobster . I drove down the road a little then gunned it in 2nd gear. My car started going no where while RPMs were rising. Was this because my tires were a little wet? Do I have to much hp for street tires to be doing this? Is it because of the open rear I have?

What can I do to prevent this?? Any suspension mods?
I really do not want to wreck my car again...

I don't expect to hook up with wet tires, that is not my goal since I rarely drive in bad weather. I was looking to improving it's performance (braking/handling/accelerating etc) on conditions like this. Not just wet roads. ANy surface

My goal here is a "safer" car. I know it starts with a safer driver (which I am) but there are plenty of morons on the road.

one really good but expensive way to get traction is an adj. torque arm like from steve spohn. stiff shocks, poly bushings, lcas etc will help but with a paxton on there how do you even hook up dry? yeah i'd say it was the little moisture left on the tires...

Put a set of traction bars on that puppy!! I would even recommend possibly getting the Action Lift Bars!!

1986 Trans AM
305 TPI
200,000+ miles (speedo/odometer non-funtional! Odometer reads 142,000)
4 Wheel Discs
9 bolt Borg Warner Rear (2.73's....oh joy) :P
Completely Stock
Soon to upgrade to a 350 converted from TPI to Carb, Edelbrock 750CFM Carb, Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Headman Shorty Headers, Some sort of ported heads (undecided), XE268 Cam, Moroso HEI ignition kit with external MSD Blaster II Coil and an MSD 6-AL Box!!
Current project: Keeping my 305 running until I get my income tax returns!
