Is it a roller cam or flat tappet cam? If its a flat tappet cam, for your combo, i would look into a cam such as the XE256h for TPI engines (the 262 if you every plan to do a chip upgrade). They have the exact same lobe profiles except they are ground on a 112 lobe seperation (the 262 is a 114 LSA).

If its a roller cam setup, a profile such as the XR264hr (or XR269hr again, if you plan chip upgrades). These are both ground on the more TPI-friendly 112 LSA.

When looking for a cam, compare them to these profiles, if you dont GO with one of these. If it were me, i would take a Comp or an Isky over a Summit grind any day. I find that Comp and Isky and the other big-name cam companies utilize much more advanced lobe profiles and ramp rates. If you look at the ramp rates in the Xtreme Energy series, you will see that the ramp rates are quicker than the Summit ones. that opens the the valve faster and keeps in at higher lift longer. and that is better.

But again, before any FINAL decisions can be made, is this a roller or flat tappet cam? are you limited by a budget? Looking at the cam you chose im guessing you want good off-idle power to about 5500 RPM.

hey thanks for that info...

i think i need a hydraulic roller cam, whatever is stock on my 91 TPI....

those ones you posted seem to have alot of lift for a 305, but i am not sure, the 264 seems like it could be alright though...so thanks, i'll look into it.
