Switching sensors

I know the oxygen sensor plugs into the exhaust manifold, but, what is the thing that goes into the other manifold? I think it has a green wire coming out of it. Also can they be switched? I mean can I take the one out the driver's side manifold and put it into the passinger side and visa versa. Thanks

What car are you talking about? I'm pretty sure that 3rd gens only had one O2 sensor and that it is in the drivers side manifold. Though with one green wire coming out it sounds like an O2 sensor.

No clue wtf you're talking about. Possibly the fan switch, but that's not in the manifold... take pics for clarity.

Ok, I got a little mixed up. I think the other sensor is the temp. sensor. The car is an 83Z carbed. Sorry about the confustion. Actually I think the the heads have been put on backwards, been that way since I bought the car.

If your car is a 83 HO car, it should have a temp gauge sender in the left head, and a fan switch in the right one.
