Disconnect the battery and let the car sit for between 1/2 to 1 hour and reconnect the battery. This will reset the computer. I had to do the same thing when I changed my o2 sensor in my other camaro.

Check the purple wire from the O2 sensor to the computer, make sure it's not shorting out to ground. Is it possible that your car really is running lean? If it is running lean, and the computer can't compensate for it, it would throw a code. This could be caused by a vacuum leak, plugged injectors, or a problem with the MAF. Also, it could be your cumputer.

Ok, since you have an 84 305, disregard anything about injectors or a MAF since it would be carbureted (if stock). If it's still lean (though i assume you have fixed it) you would have to tap into the mixture control solenoid and richen it by 1/4 turn of the screw. viola! problem solved.

Keep in mind that when you reset the computer, you need to drive like grandma for about 20 mins, so the computer can relearn stuff. If you just go *****-out, you will experance alot of gas consumption for nothing.
