*VADER* help on a fiero thing *VADER*
I know you work on these fine examples of automotive technology *ehem* and I have one in my shop that is in need of a clutch.
I've been avoiding it all week and now its time that I really should do something about it, besides, I'm out of other things to do.
I'ne never done one and by looking at it on the rack, it doesn't look like the trans drops out without maybe dropping the cradle and suspending the motor.
Now the question: Whats the secret?? How does it come out, or does it??
Can I send you a plane ticket and you can come play??
I'm trying to refrain from pulling out my torch and removing everything in one swoop.
Any help here is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

EB,
Not a flame - just a reminder - and not just to one person but to everyone....
If you have something that is targeted at one specific person, please use the email links found on the site. We have seen far too many times a question or plea for help directed at a specific person. This tends to discourage others from reading or responding, and really doesn't promote the kind of involvement we should have on the board.
The boards are for everyone to read, respond, participate, and learn. Although some people could learn a few tricks on this topic, it's really not an issue that would probably be of general interest to ThirdGen drivers.
Again, not a flame, but it's a habit that we need to avoid.
Having said that, you've got mail.

I know I am not your first choice, But IMO, it can be done either way ( pull the engine out the top or drop the engine, trans, cradle out the bottom). I have done both and like the 'out the top' method. But only because I am cramped in my work area, and I do not like disconnecting the parking brake. (My own personal hell) Haynes seems to cover all the needed notes to do this and that is what I use.

Thank you both, we went in there today and did it in 7 hours flat (counting lunch)
Works great.
We just supported the engine in chassis with a cradle, raised the car up and lowered the suspention cradle and just turned the trans sideways and left it in chassis.
Left all electrical/hoses/e-brake/etc. still connected. Just took everything off the trans and moved it out of the way. (well, this is the condensed version, its not like I want to do another one soon
)
Thanks again for the help.
