Car: 1991 Z-28

Engine: 350

Transmission: TH700

transmission shifting noise

my 91 z-28 has a slight "clunk" while it shifts into 3 gear, the thing is, it doesn't do it all the time. I've tried on different types of roads uphill,smooth,bumpy. I just changed the u-joints hopeing it was the problem, but it wasn't. any info will help
