160 Degree Thermostat

Any one think the 160* stat is too cold? I have a 383 so I think it would see a bit hotter temp than a 350 or 305. What do you guys think? I have been debating between the 170* and the 160*.

On a TPI or carb setup? Depends on whether or not your computer is modified to use a lower temp thermostat. If it's a carb setup, shouldn't be a problem at all.

I had a 160* stat in my car last summer and it was too cold for my car, even in the 90 degree summer heat here in Colorado. I just got a 180* stat and it works much better.

Its TPI with a custom prom. (Getting it burned after I find out which stat is best)

Looks like I would be good with a 170* stat. Its available from GM so I think I'll go with that. I can always change it if its too cold. I am in Cali so it can get quite hot, however it can also get quite cold in the winter and on some nights.
