Check enigine light?
I have an '88 model throttle body 305 Firebird. It starts fine when it's cold but Once it's hot it's hard to start. Once I finally get it started again And I accelerate it cuts out like it is not getting enough fuel. I've put on a new fuel filter, Fuel relay, and oxygen sensor and nothing helped. Trouble code 42 shows up So I replaced the electronic spark control. What could be causing this?
Toady,
You need to dig a little deeper into the ignition system. Hot restarting ignition problems can be caused by a weak ignition coil, failing HEI amplifier module, failing pickup coil, faulty wiring, a cracked reluctor, incorrect timing, or failing filter capacitor in the coil primary circuit.
Other causes of hard hot restart can be flooding, improperly adjusted TPS, failing coolant sensor, and excessively low compression.
Start testing.

what are you calling the electronic spark control? Because that is a series of sensors and modules. But i think you problem might be the ignition module, or a cracked distributor cap

i just got out my book and here is exactly what it says the problems may be. I would check these first. "choke sticking in the closed position. Air filter clogged. engine flooded. fuel not reaching the injector system. defective fuel or emissions systems control components
It could be any of these things that we have said. I would start with these first.
