Car STILL wont idle

i put a whole new intake package on base runners injectors (stock msd ones) and 52 TB and the car runs great. but it has a hard time ideling at startup. i have cleaned the IAC housing, IAC itself, new gaskets, and have set it numerous times. I have it set at 550 now. It will idle at 550 but when its ice cold and I start the car it IMMEDIATLY goes to 550. It doesnt run its 1500-1000-800-600 course like it should Any suggs? Thanks 89 Formula 350

Doesn't the coolant temperature sensor have something to do with the idle slowing down as the car warms up? Just a suggestion, but for $8 and 10 minutes I'd replace it. It could be a malfunctioning IAC also.

You really need to beg the use of a scanner for this...to monitor the IAC counts and see if it's actually doing anything when you turn the key on.

Yes, the IAC gets a reference from the CTS for each startup...and the CTS may have been damaged during the intake swap (this is the CTS in the front of the intake).

You may also try letting someone turn the key on, with your hand on the IAC housing, you should feel a slight vibration when it's retracting or extending.
