hydraulic, mechanical, or roller?

I was wondering exactly what type of stock cam was put into the 85 camaro's with the 305 tpi? I am hoping that it is not the mechanical since you will have to measure the valve lash when adjusting the lash. I have someone that is going to help me adjust the lash i just need to know. That way if it is roller or hydraulic I can do it with the engine running.

theres 4 types.
  • hydraulic flat tappet.
  • mechanical flat tappet. (aka solid flat tappet)
  • hydraulic roller
  • mechanical roller (aka solid roller)

all stock 3rdgen motors got hydraulic cams. in 87 they swapped from hydraulic flat tappet to hydraulic roller.
