I have a 383TPI w/sportsmen II heads. I have several mods that I still need to make so I dont want to wastte money on a custom chip yet, but I cant get any power from the stock 305 chip that is in there right now. I'd like to get an off the shelf chip until i'm done with mods. I heard Ed Wright and Performance Resource make decent ones ....Who's the best?

 

I take it,,if you're not having an idle problem that you're running the stock 19 pound injectors? What's you're fuel pressure, timing, and TPS settings at? I just swapped in a pretty hot 355 in a 86 305 IROC,,, I have 24# SVO injectors and the thing flies,, I have no complaint with the 305 chip's WOT response, mine just idles way rich.

If you HAVE to buy a custom chip, i hear by far Ed Wright is the ONLY way to go. If you go with something like jet or hypertech you might as well send me your money or burn it. Either way you'll get the safe effect. NOTHING. I highly suggest on looking into the DIY Prom board. I'm doing the same on mine. Lots of knowledgable people over there. Its great although very overwehlming at first.
