Broken hood latch mount

I'm having a problem with the metal around the hood latch splitting. I've welded it a few times but that only lasts a few months. I'm thinking about welding some sort of stiffiner to see if that helps. Anyone else had this problem??

Hey, I've got that problem! I assumed it was due to something I didn't align properly on the body.. the front of my hood isn't perfectly even with the top of my bumper. I figured the wind was getting under the hood & lifting it up. I plan to weld the crack shut and re-align the hood in the summer. Does this help?

I have the same problem woth hood alignment too. I'e tried just welding the cracks a couple of times but the weld cracks in the same place the original cracks are at.
