ok well my key will turn and unlock/lock the car but the part that latches the door closed is jammed

dunno how it happened i went to go get gas and it worked fine when i left the gas station and went to close the door it was jammed up and hit the pin that it latches to

now door cant close but can still lock??
any suggestions?

 

Unlock it, and hold the door handle up as if to open the door; turn the latch thing in the door until it's in the right position.
